Crypto Wallet Recovery for Estate Professionals & Executors

Technical crypto wallet recovery for professional executors, estate administrators and advisers handling a client or estate matter.

First point of contact: Fabian de Graaf, case management and partnerships

Professional executors, estate administrators, fiduciaries and advisers may need technical help when a client's or estate's crypto wallet cannot be opened. This route explains how we work alongside the appointed professional. If you are an heir or family member seeking recovery for an estate you are directly involved in, use our inherited crypto wallet recovery service.

How the engagement works

From a confidential first contact to an authorized, client-controlled handover.

  1. 1

    Confidential first contact

Share only your role, organization and a high-level description. Do not send wallet secrets, identity documents or files through the ordinary form.

  2. 2

    Authority and written scope

Nothing moves before this is in writing: scope, reporting, security and fee. What establishes authority depends on the role and the jurisdiction.

  3. 3

    Secure technical work

Required material moves through the agreed secure route. We work on copies where possible, in a controlled environment, and report to the agreed recipients.

  4. 4

    Handover and closure

Access and any agreed report are returned to the authorized recipient. The client remains in control of the assets; return, retention or deletion of material follows the agreement.

What the engagement covers

See which cases we can assess and what we agree with you before work begins.

Matters we can assess

  • Password-protected wallet files and encrypted backups.
  • Partial, invalid or incorrectly ordered seed or recovery phrases.
  • Hardware wallets, old computers, phones and storage media.
  • Legacy or discontinued wallet software.
  • Whether the remaining material supports a realistic recovery attempt.

Exchange and custodial accounts follow the provider's official estate process; we do not bypass it.

A defined technical role within the estate matter

We provide specialist wallet-access recovery while the appointed executor, administrator or adviser remains responsible for the estate process and client relationship. Before work begins, the written scope identifies who instructs us, who has authority, who may provide material, who receives updates and who controls the final handover.

We do not provide probate, tax, valuation or legal advice. Where a lawyer or notary is leading the matter, see our dedicated route for lawyers and notaries.

Authority, instructions and communication

The documents needed to establish authority depend on the role and jurisdiction. We confirm the appropriate verification before sensitive material is shared. The engagement records whether the professional, the client or another authorized estate representative supplies material and receives the restored access.

A professional can remain involved in communications when the client or authorized representative permits it. We do not displace the existing adviser-client relationship.

Confidential intake and material handling

The first contact needs only a general description, your role and contact details. Do not send seed phrases, private keys, passwords, wallet files or identity documents through the ordinary form. Confidentiality, secure transfer, working-copy and any case-specific evidence-handling requirements are agreed before material moves. See security and data handling and how the recovery process works.

Reporting, handover and boundaries

The agreed scope can include an activity record, integrity hashes or a technical report for the estate file. A technical report describes the work performed; it is not a legal opinion, valuation or expert-witness report unless a separate written role and scope are agreed.

We remain non-custodial. Access is returned through the agreed handover route, and we do not hold or move estate assets on a client's behalf. We do not pursue stolen or scammed funds, reverse blockchain transactions or recover exchange logins.

Start a professional estate matter

The initial assessment is free and requires no sensitive wallet material. Tell us your professional role, what type of wallet or device may be involved and what material appears to remain. If you support families as a wealth adviser, use the family office and adviser route; heirs and families can go directly to inheritance recovery.

For estates where the holding is substantial or confidentiality is itself a concern, ask about the Zero Access Recovery Protocol — a client-controlled route available when the case is technically suitable.
