Jaxx Liberty Wallet Recovery Service

Jaxx Liberty went offline on 27 March 2023. That removed the app, not the coins: your funds live on the blockchain, and the wallet was only the key to them. In many cases, access can still be restored — what recovery means now depends entirely on what you still have.

When our service can help

• Your 12-word phrase gets rejected. One misread word or a swapped order is enough to fail the checksum on Jaxx's standard BIP39 phrase. That leaves a small, searchable space — and small spaces are often solvable.
• Your phrase is missing words. There is no universal four-word cutoff. Every blank position is a choice from the 2,048-word BIP39 list, and the checksum discards most of those candidates, but the raw space still multiplies by 2,048 with each additional gap. What decides feasibility is which positions are known, how legible the remaining words are, whether you can supply an old receiving address to confirm a candidate, and what hardware the search can use. • A new wallet shows a zero balance after import. Jaxx derived addresses its own way for some coins, so other wallets scan paths where your funds never lived. Checking the paths they skip resolves many of these cases.
• You forgot your Jaxx security password. Desktop installs left encrypted wallet data in the application folder, and it usually survived the shutdown. Working only on a copy, we can often recover the password through systematic testing — stop using that computer now.
• You still have old Jaxx files or a device backup. Exported files or a backup of the machine Jaxx ran on frequently hold enough material to rebuild access.

What you are actually dealing with

• The 12-word backup phrase: standard BIP39, so it restores in any current BIP39-compatible wallet.
• The app still installed on a device: for a period after the March 2023 shutdown, an already-installed copy of Jaxx Liberty would still display the phrase on request, so a device that has not been wiped since is worth checking before you assume nothing survives.
• Only app data: desktop installs left encrypted wallet data in the application folder; recovery then depends on the security password you set in Jaxx.

Before you choose who handles this

• Non-custodial: we rebuild access, you move the funds.

• Recovery work runs on air-gapped machines that never connect to the internet.
• A written contract and an NDA (on request) come before any work; we are based in Amsterdam.

How the process works

1. You describe the Jaxx access problem in general terms.
2. We check whether recovery is technically feasible and explain the approach, timeframe, prospects and fees — if it is not realistic, we say so.
3. We confirm the scope, verify your identity and ownership, and sign a formal agreement before any work starts.
4. We work the case: old device data, legacy wallet files or whatever backup information remains.
5. Once access is restored, you verify the wallet and move the funds yourself to a wallet you control.

What is impossible

• No phrase, no app data, no exported keys. Jaxx had no server-side copy; once the device data is gone, the shutdown means there is nothing left to recover from.
• Funds sent to a scammer, including through fake Jaxx websites. Those transactions are irreversible.

Practical notes

• Download wallets only from official sites. The Jaxx shutdown created a long tail of fake "Jaxx replacement" apps and recovery services.
• Jaxx Liberty is retired; there is no support desk to reset anything. Anyone claiming to be "Jaxx support" is a scam.
