Crypto Wallet Recovery for Family Offices & Wealth Advisers

Confidential technical recovery support for family offices and wealth advisers: locked legacy wallets, inheritance and continuity of digital assets.

First point of contact: Fabian de Graaf, case management and partnerships

Digital assets can become inaccessible after a forgotten password, obsolete wallet software, damaged hardware, incapacity or death. We act as the technical wallet-recovery specialist while the family office or adviser retains the client relationship and responsibility for investment, tax, legal and succession advice.

How the engagement works

From a confidential first contact to an authorized, client-controlled handover.

  1. 1

    Confidential first contact

Share only your role, organization and a high-level description. Do not send wallet secrets, identity documents or files through the ordinary form.

  2. 2

    Authority and written scope

Nothing moves before this is in writing: scope, reporting, security and fee. What establishes authority depends on the role and the jurisdiction.

  3. 3

    Secure technical work

Required material moves through the agreed secure route. We work on copies where possible, in a controlled environment, and report to the agreed recipients.

  4. 4

    Handover and closure

Access and any agreed report are returned to the authorized recipient. The client remains in control of the assets; return, retention or deletion of material follows the agreement.

What the engagement covers

See which cases we can assess and what we agree with you before work begins.

Matters we can assess

  • Encrypted wallet files and backups with an unknown password.
  • Partial, invalid or incorrectly ordered recovery phrases.
  • Legacy wallets and software that no longer runs normally.
  • Hardware wallets, old computers, phones and storage media.
  • Succession and inheritance matters where the authorized person can establish the right to act.
  • Technical feasibility before a client commits to recovery work.
Establish roles and authority first

Before sensitive material is shared, the written scope identifies the contracting party, the person authorized to provide wallet material, who may receive updates or reports, and who controls the final handover. We verify identity, ownership or legal authority using risk-based checks appropriate to the matter.

If an adviser is to remain involved, that communication path is agreed with the client. We do not share case details merely because a referral was made.

Governance and reporting

The scope can record the material received, the systems or copies used, key technical steps, the result, and the agreed handover. The level of reporting depends on the purpose: an internal governance record is not automatically an evidential or expert report. Any special chain-of-custody, audit or reporting requirement must be raised and agreed before the work begins.

We are non-custodial: we restore access, but do not manage a portfolio, give investment advice, receive client assets or move them on a client's behalf.

Handling confidential material

The first assessment needs only a general description and no wallet secrets. If the matter proceeds, the material and secure transfer route are agreed per case. Technical work uses controlled systems, copies where possible and offline processing where appropriate. Access, retention and deletion follow the written agreement, security and data-handling policy and privacy policy; case records are not described as disappearing automatically at closure.

Fees and limits

The assessment is free. The exact fee, scope and reporting obligations are set out in the written proposal; pricing explains the standard success-fee principle. Recovery is never guaranteed. We do not recover stolen or scammed funds, reverse transactions, provide legal or financial advice, or bypass an exchange's or custodian's official process.
