Crypto Wallet Recovery for Businesses
Restore access to company wallets: forgotten passwords, legacy wallet software, key-person loss and old hardware - with proper authorization and documentation.
First point of contact: Fabian de Graaf, case management and partnerships
Company wallets can become inaccessible because of a forgotten password, obsolete software, damaged hardware or the departure, incapacity or death of a key person. We provide technical wallet-access recovery for a company that can establish both its rights to the wallet and the authority of the person instructing us.
How the engagement works
From a confidential first contact to an authorized, client-controlled handover.
- 1
Confidential first contact
Share only your role, organization and a high-level description. Do not send wallet secrets, identity documents or files through the ordinary form.
- 2
Authority and written scope
Nothing moves before this is in writing: scope, reporting, security and fee. What establishes authority depends on the role and the jurisdiction.
- 3
Secure technical work
Required material moves through the agreed secure route. We work on copies where possible, in a controlled environment, and report to the agreed recipients.
- 4
Handover and closure
Access and any agreed report are returned to the authorized recipient. The client remains in control of the assets; return, retention or deletion of material follows the agreement.
What the engagement covers
See which cases we can assess and what we agree with you before work begins.
What we can assess
- Encrypted wallet files such as wallet.dat, keystore/UTC and .wallet.aes.
- Legacy wallet software and discontinued clients.
- Old company computers, phones, hardware wallets and storage media.
- Partial or invalid recovery material and password information.
- Key-person departure or succession where relevant wallet material still exists.
- Whether a wallet configuration and the remaining approvals or keys provide a viable route at all.
Do not reset, reinstall or update the only device or file before assessment. Keep original media unchanged and work from copies where possible. The initial form needs no passwords, seed phrases, private keys, wallet files or identity documents.
The key-person and continuity problem
The material may sit on a former employee's computer, in an old backup, behind a password known only to a founder, or across a multi-party setup that is no longer understood. The first task is to preserve what exists and distinguish recoverable access material from keys or approvals that are entirely absent. Recovery cannot recreate a missing private key or replace a multisignature threshold that can no longer be met.
Authority and engagement
The written scope identifies the company, the authorized representative, who may supply material, approved recipients for updates and reports, and who controls handover. We use risk-based identity, ownership, authority and compliance checks. The evidence required depends on the company and the matter; we confirm it before sensitive material is transferred.
Documentation, handover and continuity
The agreed reporting can record material received, key technical work, the result and the handover. Additional audit, evidence or chain-of-custody requirements must be defined before work starts. We do not take custody or move company assets on the company's behalf.
After a successful recovery, the company remains responsible for its wallet design and asset movements. We can provide technical backup and access-handover guidance within the agreed scope, but do not provide governance, legal, tax, investment or custody services. A sensible internal follow-up is to document roles, test backups, remove obsolete access and make future key-person changes an explicit process.
Security, fees and limits
Sensitive handling, retention and deletion follow the written agreement, security and data-handling policy and privacy policy. The assessment is free; the exact scope and fee are confirmed in writing, with the standard principle explained on pricing.
Recovery is not guaranteed. We do not recover stolen or scammed funds, reverse transactions, or bypass an exchange's or custodian's account-recovery process.
