Coinomi Wallet Recovery Service

Coinomi wallet recovery: seed words, passphrases and multi-coin wallets - free assessment, success-based and non-custodial.

Quick answers

Is Coinomi’s phrase BIP-39?

Coinomi creates a 24-word BIP-39 phrase by default and can import 12- or 18-word phrases. Another wallet needs a compatible BIP-39 implementation and the same passphrase, derivation path, account and network settings to reproduce the expected addresses.

Why do some tokens not show after restore?

Tokens live on the same address as the chain’s native coin; select the correct network and add the token, and the balance shows.

Does Coinomi have a password reset?

No. The app password locks the local wallet; the phrase is the only route back.

Request an assessment

Coinomi is a multi-coin wallet for mobile and desktop that has existed since 2014. Recovery follows the standard BIP39 model: the recovery phrase and, if you used one, a passphrase.

What you are actually dealing with

  • Recovery phrase: 24 words by default. If the existing Coinomi wallet is accessible and you know its password, you can display the phrase again in the wallet settings. Coinomi can also restore 12- or 18-word phrases imported from other wallets. The exact word order matters.
  • Passphrase (optional): Coinomi lets you add a passphrase to the seed. A wrong or missing passphrase silently opens a different wallet with no balance - no error, no warning.
  • App password/PIN: Coinomi can lock the app with a password or PIN. That protects the local app, not the seed: with the phrase, the wallet can be restored without it.
  • Multi-coin accounts: one seed derives many coins. After restore, each coin account is added separately with the correct network.

When professional recovery is the right call

  • Several words are missing, unreadable or in the wrong order.
  • The passphrase is forgotten: because a wrong one opens a silent, no-balance wallet rather than an error, remembered fragments and a known receiving address are what turn the search from blind guessing into something bounded.
  • The phrase was written years ago and you need help verifying the order or reconstructing faded words.
  • A restored wallet shows no balance across the accounts you held.

Limits of recovery

  • If no recovery phrase, usable backup or recoverable wallet data remains, there is no material from which to restore access.
  • A forgotten passphrase requires case-specific assessment.

Practical notes

  • Never enter a Coinomi phrase into a website or app that offers to check your balance.
  • The app password is not a backup; the phrase is.
  • Keep notes of which coins were in the wallet - it makes restore verification much easier.
